The Problem Statement
The challenge was undeniable. The unchecked flow of plastics and waste in environmentally vulnerable cities was a pressing issue. Recity set out to transform the waste management landscape by closing the loop on over 55,000 MTs of plastics across 22 cities through efficient and sustainable Material Recovery Facilities.
Our Strategy
Our strategy was deeply rooted in a contextualized, tech-enabled approach that built waste processing capacity and formalized the roles of 3000+ waste professionals. Public Private Partnerships played a pivotal role in our mission to drive change.
Optimized for Every Screen
Recognizing the importance of accessibility and outreach, our solution was optimized for every screen. We developed a responsive platform that enabled stakeholders to connect and collaborate, fostering a sense of shared responsibility.

User-Centric Research
Our journey commenced with thorough UX research, diving into user groups, personas, and stakeholder dynamics. Through surveys and interviews, we unveiled the real-life challenges faced by users. These insights served as the foundation for a user-friendly and intuitive app experience, making the Bada Business Community a truly engaging and impactful platform.
Typography & Visual Expression
Typography and visual design played a crucial role in shaping our platform. Every font, color, and visual element was thoughtfully chosen to create a visually appealing yet functional design that resonated with Recity's mission.
Iconography
Icons were meticulously crafted to facilitate user interactions and navigation. Each element contributed to a seamless and intuitive experience that connected stakeholders in the waste value chain.
Our Solution
The outcome was a transformative waste management platform that formalized waste professionals, empowered environmentally vulnerable cities, and closed the loop on plastic waste. Through a contextualized and tech-enabled approach, we achieved sustainable Material Recovery Facilities and social inclusion.
Conclusion
The results were monumental. The waste value chain was formalized, social inclusion was enabled, and plastics were diverted from landfills to circular solutions. This case study traces a journey from problem statement to transformative solution, emphasizing the importance of a contextualized, tech-enabled approach, typography, visual expression, and user interface in driving environmental change.
