How to use social media to get more people to your event?

How many times do you just scroll through your Facebook newsfeed in a day? Needless to say, everyone does this multiple times. We find posts that say, XYZ is interested in going to an ABC event. XYZ is a hence, a potential customer is aware that an ABC event is going to take place. Setting up a Facebook event, posting about the event on Instagram & Twitter with relevant hashtags can generate a huge database of potential and interested customers even before your event has taken place. It is the perfect way to get the word out.

Whether you’re organizing a festival or hosting a party for the launch of a product, everything goes for a toss if there aren’t enough people attending it. Footfall matters the most when it comes to such events. More the people, happier the sponsors. More the people, the larger the database. More the people, the higher the chances of conversion of these people into customers. So, how do you get more and more people to your event?

Let’s simplify this task for you with these simple steps.

1. Hashtag

It is the common thread that ties all the loose strings related to an event. The most important note here is to build it up early in order to give it time to spread. It should be captivating, short, and unique. Don’t forget to use it everywhere, even on the physical posters and banners.

2. Create a Facebook and LinkedIn event

More and more people are interested in attending events instead of getting bored at home these days. The best resort for them is to browse through Facebook’s events list. So, our job is simple – being there on the list. Make sure the event description is appealing enough to make people come to it. Put a call to action link which either directs to a registration page or a page that can book tickets. ‘RSVP through Facebook’ is perfect for free events and festivals.
However, LinkedIn events are more about business. Events like professional workshops, conferences, and fund-raising, clearly deserve a place on LinkedIn.
Also, mention the entire details like the exact time, a map of the location where the event will take place so that the people don’t get confused. If your event will feature well-known celebrity guests or accomplished writers or experts, tell about them. This way you will associate their goodwill with yours.

3. Spread it across all your social media channels

Talk about your event on Twitter and share a post about it on Instagram. This is because there is a segment of your target audience which is active on these channels. You ought to have your presence everywhere.

4. Engage your public

Now that you are done talking about it, gather public support for it. Ask questions through Twitter, put up contests for VIP tickets and passes, and last but, not the least collaborate with other brands which can help you spread the word even more.
